My Alto Saxophone

Sold my Super 20 tenor sax last year, and bought this Kessler Custom Deluxe red brass alto. I figured for what little playing I do nowadays, an alto would work much better. I was right - I enjoy playing it quite a bit.

It's a unique horn - part of the first run of red brass altos that Kesslers had made. When they received this first group of horns, they discovered they had 2 or 3 with copper bows and bells. Here's a link to the page on the Kessler website describing it. It's very nice horn. I went through a few different mouthpieces before I decided to stick with a plain old Hite Premier plastic mouthpiece, with medium to hard reeds, depending on the situation. I'd love to have one of the new Vandoren V16 alto sax mouthpieces, but I don't really play enough to justify the cost. The Hite Premier does everything I need it to do, anyway.
